Hi all!
I'm still waiting for the results of my application, I have a month left to wait.
I was looking at the JET Career Fairs' former programs out of curiosity, and I saw Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in the companies listed for the Fukuoka Fair (2017? 2018? I don't remember).
I got interested because working with international students is something that I would love to do, even though from what I understand it's a lot of Eternal Overlordistrative tasks. I was wondering if anyone here has worked or is working at a university in the international department after being a CIR?
Thank you and congrats to everyone who got in this year, hope to be one of you!

Hello. That university hires every year. - This year they were hiring 7-8 people across various offices.
I'll actually be starting there in August so, feel free to message me with any questions in the future once I've gotten some experience there.

Hi! Thank you for responding!
Oh, that's awesome! Congrats on the job. I'm excited to chat with you in the future, I have followed you not to forget.
May I ask how you applied (I mean: through an online fair, or directly on their website for example), and what type of tasks you will supposedly be in charge of?
Thank you again, and if you are not comfortable answering please don't go into details, I know you said to message you once you got experience, so I'm already happy about it. Good day!

They uploaded the job listing on their website in about March. I had to send a CV and a Statement of Motivation to them by post and then I got an email inviting me to an interview. I actually did not get the position I originally applied for. But they followed up with a phone call and invited me to interview for another position and I got that one. - It mostly seems to be translating articles for a monthly newsletter and coordinating contact between people in the university and abroad. There were positions related to supporting exchange students but the one I got doesn't seem to have much to do with that

I see, thank you!
I saw on their website that they were hiring someone this year for International Students Support, and the description looked like it would perfectly fit what I'd like to do. Deadline to apply is June 20th and the job starts in September. Won't be applying this year because I'm still waiting on JET and have a job here in my country but that's exciting for the future, especially because you mentioned they hire every year!
I'll be glad to catch up with you once you get started on your new position and I wish you the best! Also 頑張ってください for the move and everything
