If you go to the hamburger place (there's a flyer of it posted somewhere in JIAM iirc) you should leave ASAP after class because it gets very crowded. I think when I went we managed to make it in just before a giant line of like 20 people showed up.

I don't like ketchup or mayonnaise or... like, any condiment in general, so I only go to hamburger places I know will let me be picky about the fillings (for reference: Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Yufuin Burger, Mosburger, and Freshness Burger).

Google says it's a type of pottery.
I don't think you're allowed to eat pottery (and I don't want to), so I think Snell was right.

We have many edible 名物! Tori-ten and kara-age and dango jiru and kabosu lime and types of mackerel and also bungo beef and blow-fish!!! Actually I don't see a lot of 温泉卵 around here (well, I see them at the onsen but they don't seem to be a big thing like in Hakone). We are famous for 地獄蒸し food (food steamed in onsen) - including 地獄蒸しプリン

Steamed foods are so yummy - I love dim sum for that reason. What's the name of the big fat citrus fruit that they throw in the ゆ?

Is it ばんぺいゆ? I know there's an onsen near-ish here that does it, and I feel like the first time I saw ばんぺいゆ it was described to me as an Oita 名物. But I could be wrong about that part.

I literally asked my soup before lunch and he said he hadn't gotten an email yet... Does that mean I didn't get it? Oh nooooo. you get an e-mail whether you passed or not so it probably just means your JPA hasn't forwarded it yet either that or you failed so overwhelmingly hard that you have deeply offended CLIAR and they have decided to punish you by letting you twist in the wind for the next few weeks one of the two

おめでとう! Also found out one of the Oita ALTs got in as well and he's so nice I don't know if any other ALTs applied this year. Do Chinese and Korean CIRs have a separate translation and interpretation course?

They do as of last year, I think! When I went everybody was together but I think they split them so that more 英語圏 people could take it.

Oooh I know Korean CIR (and maybe Chinese CIR) are doing a course but didn't know if it was the same one as us or not. That's a shame that their course is separate as it would have been fun for all of us to go togethe

Yeah it's nice that more 英語圏 people will get to take it but I feel like there's already a lot of distance between 英語圏 and 非英語圏 (especially from Asia) so it's a shame that there will be one less chance for everybody to interact. Especially since everybody taking T&I has enough Japanese ability that communication shouldn't be an issue.
