What holidays are you looking for? Not Halloween or Christmas There's the "Bunny Hop" for Easter, that comes with a cute dance. Altho if you're also looking for non-holiday songs, check out "Super Simple Songs" on youtube. They have a lot of great songs for kids!

HELLO i have one lesson i've done with each of my nursery schools, and it's been a hit at each one, so i thought i'd share it here in case anyone needs some ideas ~ topic: numbers 1-10 and fruits time: 30-40 minutes materials: 「はらぺこあおむし」, a ball or plushie, cards with numbers 1-10 on them, something to play music on, はらぺこあおむし coloring sheets, crayons, laptop/hdmi/etc to show a presentation on, poster (explained below), stickers prepare in advance: presentation: i like to (briefly) use powerpoint slides to run through vocabulary instead of using cards since it's larger, brighter, and more stimulating. create a presentation with different amounts of fruits per slides (1 apple, 2 pears, etc. all the way to 10) poster: using the same fruits and amounts as the slides, print out pictures and amounts of fruits and stick them onto the poster. don't write the number--it should just be clusters of different fruits. the lesson: 1. Introduction: i like to open with hellos, brief refreshers on names, and then we sing the hello song together (there are tons online to pick from!) 2. Read 「はらぺこあおむし」 in japanese while repeating relevant parts in English ("he ate 1 apple on monday" "he ate 4 strawberries on thursday") 3. Presentation. ask the kids what the fruit is, how many there are, ask them to repeat in English, count together, etc. 4. Game: hot potato with numbers. the kids will pass around the ball/plushie as you play music. when the music stops, the passing stops as well, and the kid still holding the plushie will come up to you and randomly draw a card with a number on it. elicit the number in english, and help them figure out which fruit on the poster it corresponds to. tape or stick the card to the poster. continue the hot potato game until all fruits have been labeled with a number. 5. Coloring: pass out crayons and coloring sheets! as the kids color, make conversation about the fruits, colors, etc.. once they're finishing up, go to each kid and ask them how many of a certain fruit there are. once they answer, they get a high-five and a sticker! this one especially works well with smaller classes since there's lots of opportunity for 1:1 interactions, which i find helps the kids remember vocab better ^^ 良かったら please try it out <3
