Heyo- I remember reading through this thread before I went into my first interpreting irai this past week. One website I found while scrolling through LinkedIn was interpretershelp.com/ . If you don't already have a dedicated flashcard app, or it's blocked at work/can't install it on work computers, this worked for me as I was trying to understand cruise ship lingo- At the moment it doesn't seem to have many study resources for Eng <-> JP, so let's get working here! We could turn it into another CIRHP kinda info sharing resource-

Does anyone have good resources for terms related to 高齢社会? I've got a final interpretation tomorrow between the mayor and a bunch of researchers that I wanna prepare for but Google isn't helping. (it's possible I'm not looking hard enough)

Turns out I will be giving a presentation at Mid-Year Chaos about interpreting as an English language CIR (and one different from the "how to interpret E<->J" that they have every year.
Do anyone have something they would like to hear about or certain points they would want to have brought up during a presentation like that? (Or something they would have liked to hear before they were forced to learn it on their own?)

Hello hulemdos! Had my first interpreting gig in a long while today, a 表敬訪問 between our mayor and an ambassador. It was not perfect as I was definitely rusty, but I did my best and it turned out well! I combed through the earlier pages and used a lot of the advice everyone has compiled here, so BIG ARIGATOU to everyone! Hope you're all doing well!
