I've always thought Japanese commercials are a really great and interesting study resource, and so I got the idea to do a combination English/Japanese class using commercials as study materials. The obvious problem with that is that I need to figure out if I can use commercials in the first place, copyright wise. I believe that I need to get in touch with companies to do this, but then again, they might have info about it written somewhere? Alternately, if the company uploads their own ads to YouTube, could they be contacted via YouTube? I didn't know where else to ask this so I just made this thread to ask: does anyone have experience asking companies to use their materials? Anyone have experience maneuvering copyright? If not, anyone have advice? ETA: ok so turns out I was having Miscommunications(TM) with my supervisor and if the company itself puts the ads on YouTube, it's ok for us to play them. Soooo... uh... karuru if you could delete this thread that would be peachy
