Hi there, Some of you may know me, but most of you probably don't. I was a CIR and CIRHPer from 2015-2017, and now I'm back as a direct hire CIR.
Unfortunately the login page is blocked at my CO, so I can only post as a guest...
I work for a very large city, and up until now it's been the rule that the CIR does not accept translations from outside the division, only native checks.
HOWEVER, due to the fact that
1. I am speedier at native checks and translations that what was expected of me 2. I actually find translations easier than native checks at times,
We are considering accepting translation requests from other divisions/wards. Given how big the city is, we need to set some guidelines for what we can accept so that I can manage my workload within my 30 hour week.
I'm not sure if anyone is in a similar situation, but I'm curious what kind of guidelines people think are good, and what kinds of translations people have turned down before. Here is what I'm thinking ATM.
-No PDFs/JPGs, things that can't be edited/copy-pasted, obviously. -Minimum turnaround of 1 week. -Character max of 1000. -Max 2 requests per 課 per week.

How many hours per day/week do you think you'll be able to devote to outside requests?
Those guidelines seem fine except 1000 characters seems kinda short to me.
