Hi! My visa ends in July and I am currently looking for a new job as I can't recontract for a 4th year. Can anyone tell me about their experience in starting a new job after their old one ended, renewing their visa, and the process/documents involved? Thank you!

Hello! dumbuglybastardWe have a thread about job hunting, etc., in our general discussion board! cirhomepage.boards.net/thread/15/post-start-hunting-jerbs-housesThere are already a few people who are not/cannot recontract(ing) who have been asking similar questions this year. There are quite a few pages on the thread, but hopefully you can find some answers! If not, feel free to ask everyone there Good luck with your job searching!

As long as you switch jobs in the same category within 3 months of leaving your last job, all you have to do is go to the Immigration website online and enter your new job's info. Very easy.
However, renewing the visa may subject your new position to more scrutiny. As long as it's a real job in the right visa category you should be okay.
Post-JET you get up to 6 months to look for a new job as well (normally just 90 days), as long as your employer fills out the required form. That info is in the JET handbook or other guides I believe.
