I suspect the answer already, but what sort of travel brochure interests everyone? I'm sure everyone here has seen a lot of them...

I'm sure everyone here has seen a lot of them... sorry for the basic answer hue but travel brochures are 100% about having nice pictures/sleek design imo for more info ppl can just google it, but you want to grab ppl's interest and make them want to go (tho for travel brochures used in the area, store info/basic maps is nice)

Actually, that's what I expected and that's why I actually (so far so wrong according to the poll) assumed that something like the anime thing would get more votes actually. My thinking is that everyone and anyone can put together a simple brochure, but if the pics don't stand out, then you're maybe less likely to get someone's attention.

This is probably just a personal opinion, but as a tourist, I love walking tour/route guides. They give you a really good way to either day a slow day to sightsee or to pick and choose a couple of spots--while knowing their approx distance from each other.
But if you have a lot of visual guide-like pamphlets already, I actually think your idea of a mascot-based detailed guide would be a great idea too!
I think "which would be better" probably has more to do with what type of people would be using them? Residents vs. tourists, maybe? People who will be in the area for a couple of days/one day vs. people who have more time to spend exploring smaller attractions?
I'm sure whatever you end up deciding will appreciated either way though!
