When you do it the second time, you only have the KEMSYUU in that place with the Lake and NOTHING ELSE, you don't have the homework. Also edit because congratulations everyone! Otsu curry!!! Wait, including the monthly tests?
Okay, I'm there.
the thing though is that there arent enough spots for everyone so 修了者 are chosen by くじ引き

Yes, that's true; although there are now two classes, so I guess it's easier to get in. My class had at least one person who was there for the third time.

I only know year 1:
on the certificate we got from otsu it says: 平成30年度JETプログラム翻訳・通訳講座の集合研修 [英語]
but on my RIREKISHO I put 自治体国際化協会(クレア)翻訳・通訳コース 終了
cause I thought Claire sounds cooler than JET program

Very stupid question but will you be blacklisted from attending the course again next year if you didn't do the last few tests? In between piles of work, 出張s, and generic fatigue, I completely misread the absolute final deadline and forgot to submit the last two tests :/

Cos at most they will just tell you they can't accept your late tests and at least you tried!

Is everyone else able to access their certificates already? I logged in but it says my attendance confirmation is still 採点待ち.

BUT is the certificate messed up for anyone else? In addition to words being split between lines (example below), the last line(s) below the date are mostly cut off (like I can only see the 10% of the letters) EDIT: if I click the link from the home page and NOT the class page the second problem is solved. but the first problem still makes it look really unofficial and fake hue, looks like someone typed it up in word
Ex of first problem: This is to certify the abovementioned indiv idual has successfully completed all the require ments...... etc
and this is on my personal laptop not my work laptop

The text is messed up on mine as well, but just printed it at work just in case.
Edit: Mine also says あなたはJETプログラム翻訳・通訳講座を優秀な成績で終了したことを証します
Did we all finish with 優秀な成績?

Ooh I just checked and my last test was graded! Oh man... my grader this time had to be a native English speaker. Very shizen. Much impressed. Wow (This is what I thought, not what the grader actually wrote... hue)

Oh I just logged in again and now it's been changed to say I've finished the course and I can access my certificate now!
And sanpei my certificate is messed up the same way as yours.
@kinbenkun Mine says 優秀な成績 too, haha.

Same here to all the above! Even the formatting hue I swear, what is it with Japan and its relentless insistence of justified paragraphs for English? I enjoy tidy formatting as much as the next person, but when it screws everything up...

I just confirmed with my cooworker that the Japanese is natural and it looks like a legit certification. Since I will be doing SHOE CATS in Japan afterwards, that is all I care about.

Hey everyone! CO just let me know I'm approved to attend the 翻訳・通訳講座 (yay!) that is, if I pass the language test Is there a thread specifically about this test? If not, what kind of resources has everyone used in the past to prepare? Is the format similar to that of the JLPT? 39 in advance!

Hey everyone! CO just let me know I'm approved to attend the 翻訳・通訳講座 (yay!) that is, if I pass the language test (rofl) Is there a thread specifically about this test? If not, what kind of resources has everyone used in the past to prepare? Is the format similar to that of the JLPT? 39 in advance! :D There isn't a specific test thread but there are a lot of posts about it in this thread if you look back through the pages. I think the format is similar each year. Be prepared with a good headset to record yourself with and a program that will record and upload the audio files in the correct format. Also, it's timed so rush. So many people I know couldn't finish the whole test, myself included. It's not like the JLPT, you have to type out translations and upload recordings of yourself interpreting. I know someone who failed it because they only got through half of the questions.
Also, other reminder: the due date for applications for 2nd timers is this Friday (16th)!! So apply ASAP if you want to attend. For first timers: Due date is on August 23rd, next Friday. (Last year I was the first CIR here and my boss didn't look at that email so we had to apply late..)

leximaha from what i can tell, the test is just to make sure you understand japanese. remember, this is something that ALTs can apply to as well and they need to make sure you can be okay in a class taught entirely in japanese? tldr if you are a cir, you should be fine just relax, do your best but dont stress, and make sure you submit everything right/on time (even then, they are someone flexible)

ehhh dont know if ill apply this time around Yeah I'm thinking I won't apply either, like seeing peeps'd be nice and all, but I just didn't really enjoy the actual classes last time or doing the tests etc. (and didn't actually do the exercises or anything, just the tests) so that sorta outweighs it for me ^^;;;
