Even if I wanted to apply I couldn’t because they didn’t set aside any money in the budget for it this year

So this week when I came in he had left a sticky note on my desk telling me to send the application email myself.
(Do not reccommend but perhaps they accept late applications too, since I applied late last year...?)

oooh we can send it ourselves? I'll hit her a line asking if she sent it and send it myself if she didn't then~

Talked to her and she's insisting the deadline to send it to gyomu Gyomu is the 21st and she doesn't want me to send it >.> but I'm like .... the freaking email says the 16th...... but she's the gyomu Gyomu liaison so I'm like whatever at this point
EDIT: apparently she asked them to extend it to the 21st and they said ok, just tell me that from the beginning hue all is solved if anyone wants to apply late next week looks like you might be able to?

My application was sent after the deadlin my first year and I still got in, so it's not a hard deadline to start with, it seems...

oooh we can send it ourselves? I'll hit her a line asking if she sent it and send it myself if she didn't then~ Well, I think usually JET's SUPs are supposed to be the ones emailing gyomu Gyomu for application things but my CO is kind of odd (since I'm the first CIR here they might not know the norms or rules as much?). So I've applied to things like Mid-Year Chaos directly to gyomu Gyomu and the kencho before. Kencho replies to me but gyomu Gyomu doesn't hue. I've successfully applied to stuff directly to gyomu Gyomu before though so I assume they take applications directly from JETs as well. *edit oh oops I got ninja'd since I had this reply window open for a while. Glad she got extended though.

leximaha from what i can tell, the test is just to make sure you understand japanese. remember, this is something that ALTs can apply to as well and they need to make sure you can be okay in a class taught entirely in japanese? tldr if you are a cir, you should be fine just relax, do your best but dont stress, and make sure you submit everything right/on time (even then, they are someone flexible) Thank you for the advice!
ちなみに so the actual seminar is in December, but there is an online course that goes from October through March 2020, right?

as long as it hasnt changed (which.... i highly doubt) it isnt online persay. you upload your translations and interpretation files from each "chapter test" to the course website. all the "learning" is done with the textbook and the week long GASSHUKU.

(hi work is boring and frustrating so I'm necromancing threads left and right)
My CO had budget for me to take the course this year and I just learned about the pre-exam...so SURPRISE, looks like I've gotten myself into more than I'd bargained for. At least they're letting me do the test during work time but they don't want me babbling to myself in the office so I'm getting stuck in a meeting room.

I have the opposite problem, none of the private meeting rooms are available atm so I might be stuck mumbling to myself in the office while everyone works (-...-)

Neither me or my tantousha was aware that there was any homework involved. We just assumed it was the 1 week course in that place with the Lake and NOTHING ELSE, that is, until a stack of textbooks arrived at our office!

So my CO contacted another CIR in Tokyo and she was telling them to set aside budget for the translation course (thank you to whoever that was!!)
So I have the budget and I am registered to go but I am kind of nervous about the test! There are 9 people over and I dont want to be one of the 9 dropped. How embarrassing would that be hue. For people who have taken it before: how was it?

A lot of the people I know (including myself) couldn't even finish the whole thing but still got in, so don't worry too much about it!

Hey so for this test are people doing this at work or at home? And how did people record the file for the tsuuyaku part? Can you just use your laptop? This seems more complicated than it needs to be, I still don`t get why they can`t just let through another 9 people

There's a limited number of rooms in the building where they do the one-week training, and probably a limited numbers of teachers, so there's only so many people who can go.

Doing my test was so damn awkward cause my soup insisted on sitting in the chair next to me within breathing distance hue Just the two of us in the otherwise silent room for 40 min, soo uncomfortable
honestly would have rather just done it at home

Wait I haven't heard anything about a test from my soup yet--so it's confirmed that there will indeed be a SEMBATS test for the 2nd year course as well?
