Curious because so many of my international hulemdos have struggled with that in the US (lottery process, companies putting up a lot in the process, paperwork, etc.) to the point where a lot of companies don't even consider international candidates purely based on visa reasons alone. For those of you about to transition from CIR to another Japanese job position or have considered alternatives to CIR in the past in working abroad in Japan, is this the same situation there? From what I see it's more reliant on personal qualifications (experience, language fluency, etc. for the 5-year special working visa) rather than the companies, but would like to hear from someone who's been close to the shuukatsu process. I'd love to work as a CIR in the future but would love to know what other options of working in Japan look like as well . please pitch in your two cents, thank youuuu!

I've seen a lot of job postings that require that people already have a working visa, though I'm not sure whether it's because sponsoring a visa is actually difficult or if companies just don't know how to do it and don't want to bother. I don't actually know what goes into sponsoring a visa nor have I looked for jobs outside of JET in Japan (yet) so I don't have much else to offer, sorry. :/
If you come on JET and have a valid visa/在留資格 it seems simple enough to change/renew it for a new job once you're already here though.

Ahh thank you though! Good to know that once you're there it's much easier (if it happens to be hard before) to switch your visa for a new job
