I am creating a thread to talk about initiatives local governments have made or are in the process of making that would impact resident foreign nationalities in that local community. Let me give an example: Fukuoka City has started a Startup VISA program/initiative where they help to recognize and provide support for new businesses that are starting out in Fukuoka. www.city.fukuoka.lg.jp/keizai/r-support/business/startupviza_english.htmlIt would be interesting to see if there are other places that carry out similar programs and I feel CIRs would be one of the first people who would be involved in this? Even if it is not yourself or your CO directly but you know of someone, let's share information here so that we can also help our own COs! Other examples related examples: Sapporo's forward thinking initiatives regarding the LGBT communityLET'S SHARE!

Love Knowledge will actually be starting this soon as well, and I just got done native checking the English translation for the website regarding it. There was a lot to fix, even though the section doing it here admitted that they basically just KOPIPE'd the text straight from Happy Hill's site, hue.
I guess that means Happy Hill didn't get their's checked by a CIR?

That city does have a CIR though? I talked to him but didn't ask if he was involved in the translation hmmm. If you look at their website though it may not be perfect English, but it gets the message across! Anyhow, thanks for the heads up!! Good to know more places are trying this!

I'm curious if the new same-sex couple laws in Sapporo will extend to joining your spouse's koseki? Not that it matters for us foreign folks, since we can't be in koseki anyways...
