Please let us know what you think should happen with the automatic cheeky huleezus. The cheeky huleezus are a collection of words that are automatically changed to something else when they are typed.
Deactivating (or reducing) cheeky huleezus will not affect self-cheeky huleezus (when someone types it in themselves)

I think it's okay to keep them, if there's a convinient post pinned that has an exhaustive list of them for reference for people who don't know what they mean

agree we should update the jisho!
i don't think i trigger many of them on the daily but maybe there are too many obscure ones. i guess it doesn't help that words like hulemdo aren't spelt out in the traditional romaji way? i also don't even know why it became a cheeky huleezu in the first place?
it's definitely fun once everyone understands though and is part of chirp culture!

I think they're fun and discovering them is one of the fun things about the forum. I think having some of them in the jisho is good, but I like the surprise of finding the rare ones like syzygium jamboses hue I think if we just explain to newbies that we have random jokey cen.sors and that if your post get's auto-edited you can use the period trick to get around it, then people can adapt fine. It's not like they impede communication usually, and if something is unclear ask the OP if they got cheeky huleezued.
I kinda wish we could get a bot on the discord that would apply cheeky huleezus too, but I doubt anyone else would go for it

Yeah I think do like the cheeky huleezu and I think learning the stories behind them is fun as a newb but also like memory lane for the vets? ka na. And maybe in the hello to the forum guide, making mention of the presence of cheeky huleezus a la what Sunny has commented

fwiw, censo.rs have come and gone
for example, there was a time when we werent as good at not saying each others names so we censo.red them
recently tho, as those people became inactive, it no longer made sense to censo.r names that could come up in different contexts
i also think words that can come up in the work threads should be cleared as much as possible. (CLAI.R being the biggest one. tho gyomu gyomu def had a wonderful run)
as for whether they all get gone or most stay and there is an updated dictionary, i will leave that decision up to you all. i know most of them and any new ones i can ask about if i dont catch in the beginning
re: dictionary. would... it include just active cheeky huleezu.s or self-cen.sors too? that sounds impossible to actually keep updated
that said, a welcome letter would be cool. welcome new posters and explain that cen.sors are a part of the culture, "please reading the list below"

That way everyone can read a little bit about the forum culture and not be too surprised or alienated by all the censo.rs. I'm sure the dictionary needs to be updated since it probably doesn't get updated each time a new censo.r is created.

i agree with all of the above, although i kinda like the current the one CLAIR to rule them all huleezu (better than the gyomu gyomu one)
and yeah i personally didnt find the jisho thread super helpful when i first came and had to ask about a ton of stuff so pls updating

Regarding the jisho thread, it only contains self-cheeky huleezus currently (probably because it was decided at the time that the automatic cheeky huleezus should be kept a surprise? Not sure... but more people wanted to keep everything at the time)

New person here, I like the phrases though idk how extensive they are/were yet hulemdo and hue especially are nice, they give the forums a unique and cute FUNIKI. I wasn't sure how much CHIRP-go is because of the automatic conversion and how much is purposefully written for the lols... and I assume that long-time users probably write some of them out pusposefully at this stage hue

I support an improved cen/sor and "CIRHP語" guide
I think getting rid of the C.LAIR and ad.min and other work-related ones could be conducive to easier communication
i would prefer that cens.ored prefecture names stay cheeky huleezued for privacy reasons but i suppose that self-ce.nsoring is always an option

I think it's okay to keep them, if there's a convinient post pinned that has an exhaustive list of them for reference for people who don't know what they mean This, and also I feel that cheeky huleezu that change the words drastically should be removed. Like sure, it makes sense to change aki.ta to Sick of it but a rando coming in to say their placement isnt going to get that instantly. I might be one of the slower ones to get these inside jokes but it sometimes feels like im kept out of the loop and it doesnt feel great. Its up to the Eternal Overlords whats best to do for the community, but this is just one of the reasons why i prefer lurking. I have no idea what history this forum has, but CIR info is already hard enough to come by as it is for new applicants imo

is akita still cen.sored? if so, i also think we should change it back
edit: oh it's already gone! naisu~
it might be easier for the newbies to point out the cheeky huleezus that are hard to understand. communication shouldn't be hindered in the public threads
