Hello, everyone!
It has been so long since I have last posted in the forums, hue. However, I wanted to ask my question here instead of elsewhere.
Recently, I received an irai to give a self-introduction to my area's elementary and middle schools! Yay!! I'm really looking forward to meeting the kids and teachers, as many of them have wanted me to come these past 8 months that I have been here.
One request they had for me after introducing myself was coming up with a game activity suitable for elementary and junior high students that can help them learn about American culture. For context, I was asked to present for the schools' English classes, so everything will be in English (unless the students do not understand something, in which case parts may be explained in Japanese).
So far, I have some game ideas like Jeopardy or Mystery Box, where students can divide up into two teams and take turns answering multiple choice questions to learn more about me and American culture. For example, one question might be: "Where is Hikari from in the U.S.? A. Los Angeles, California B. Dallas, Texas C. Denver, Colorado". But do you all think these types of games would be appropriate for younger students? I have never taught nor presented for these age groups before, so I have zero clue what they find entertaining in classroom settings. hue
Also, have any of you tried more hands-on activities with students after presenting? What are some games you have tried and found to be more successful than others?
I welcome any ideas you all have for me. Thank you! : )

Never tried it myself, and preparations can be quite troublesome but I've heard that bingo can be fun. (Instead of numbers include words (verbs/specific activities/objects) in english and the kids have to find someone who does that or find it in the classroom etc.)

There are a lot of different games you can do actually! I think the multiple choice quiz would be good for junior high level and maybe change it to a True/False quiz for the elementary school kids. Check out the Games for School Visits thread for some more ideas.
