Hey all, I've been asked to lead an hour long class on answering the phone in English. It's for the folks who operate our call lines here at the 県庁, and is basically just aimed at giving them a modicum of an idea what to do and how to respond should an English speaker call.
Trick is, all of these people apparently have "high school" level English, so I don't think I've got much to work with, and it's only a one time class, so there's not really a lot of room for improvement.
I figured with this, I'd try to do a basic outline of some useful phrases, then some live practice with myself and our English coordinator, but I was wondering if anyone else has done similar stuff before and how you went about it. Also, if anyone knows where to find, for example, an easily pilferable "useful phrase" list or something, I would be very grateful.

I think this sounds lika good idea. I have made "cheat sheets" for our staff if here for when we get a call in German and I am not around. Since no one can really speak it, I just katakana'd it as easy to read and understand as possible.
