congratulations!!! hope to see you become a serial poster Hopefully I can have the time to become one hue. I'm quite excited, but nervous because I have no idea about what type of CIR job I will get. Looking forward to chatting with you all (especially on the plus and minus thread )! There's no reason why you can't start now. :3 We have a few ex-CIRs posting from different time zones!

Congrats daradara and White Person!
Yeah, I remember completely bombing the small English teaching portion of my interview, but I guess they thought my Japanese was passable enough to do some exchange with Internationals

Well I made an account so that's something at least So in terms of preparation, what are some of the things that would be helpful to do? I'm trying to brush up on my Japanese by reading the news etc but I'm worried I won't have enough business / work place vocabulary ><

Yeah, I even took business Japanese for about 1.5 years and I still flubbed up (and still do).
I think it's more important for you to comprehend what they are saying, so maybe watch some work-place related dramas/movies? That might help out...? Like Hotaru no Hikari or Kyou wa Kaisha wo Yasumimasu.

I don't think anybody expects somebody who is new to a job to understand everything, regardless of language.
I posted in the other thread just now too but practicing your keigo/kenjogo will definitely be helpful (and maybe impress your coworkers). It might also be handy to do some research on your hometown/where you're from (population, famous things, etc.) because you will probably get asked about it a lot. (I had no idea what the population of my town was before coming to Japan, haha.)

Hi guys, another fresh CIR here. I found out a bit later than most because I live in a different country to where I took my interview, but better late than never.
Congratulations to everyone else who made it.

Oh, cool. Maybe that is me. Except I'm not French. And I haven't been placed yet. Sorry to disappoint you. Don't worry, I'll get around to the はじめまして later but I'm actually procrastinating a project right now so I better head back. T_T

むちゃRABU❤ It's too late. Now, no matter where I end up, the first thing I'll ask my predecessor is "Is that you むちゃRABU❤?"
Coincidentally, my name is the French spelling of an English name. ...Still not French.
