A. is not so difficult. I cannot claim responsibility for it but my nearest city got their bus and new subway routes up and most of the intercity carriers have uploaded to ã°ã¼ã°ã«å
ç too. If they want any foreign people to use it they really need to do this. Perhaps you could write a memo on this with comparisons of similar routes elsewhere to see if the city could nudge them in this direction in the name of all that is holy (inbound x omotenashi) I did make a page link but you can see it's a far cry from having the info properly embedded within ã°ã¼ã°ã«å
ç 's system. Wow, your Maps link is so similar to what I was working on! I like your concept. It will definitely be a good direction to take what I'm doing here (in the interim, if my goal is to show that I put in an effort to do what I was asked to do) but ultimately I agree that the bus lines really need to be on グーグル先生 maps for the sake of...everyone. There are simply too many routes to organize this all effectively. I'll address this topic again and hopefully get some answers as to why we can't push our bus company to be on グーグル先生 maps.

Interesting discussion, I'd love to get the buses on google maps here as well. Not even just for foreigners it would just make the bus system here so much easier for everyone. Currently there aren't many good resources online even in Japanese.
The tourism dept kacho I work with a lot is close with the head of the local bus company, might try bringing up the idea.

I'd also be very interested in hearing how anyone is able to get their local bus systems on google maps. From this thread it seems like it needs to be the actual operator to do it? In that case it's frustrating that there isn't at least some checked system where normal people can upload the information.
Most of the buses in my city do not show up on maps even though they actually go near tourist spots here. But if tourists can't drive and they check google maps they'd probably just skip coming because they'd assume you can't even go to the places by public transit, when you can... ;;

Has anyone successfully uploaded bus/transit information (that didn’t exist up until then) using google transit? Is this possible if we are not the transit company?

No. It is for transit companies and needs data in a standard format support.go og le.com/transitpartners/answer/1111481?hl=ja&ref_topic=3521043

Has anyone successfully uploaded bus/transit information (that didn’t exist up until then) using google transit? Is this possible if we are not the transit company? I contacted our transit company through their TOIAWASE form as a member of the general public to ask why they weren't listing their bus stops on Google maps. The response I got was something along the lines of needing the coordinates for all of the bus stops (which they don't have) but also that they were currently in the middle of discussions with the town regarding a different topic and are exploring the possibility of sharing the data with Google down the road. だそうです。

That's a good idea. I may have to try that way.

Also, I know that this has already been talked about, but does anyone have a solution for all of your maps edits constantly being rejected. I've put in over 50 edits (over the course of three months) and they've all been rejected except one. I'm worried it's decided I'm some kind of spam bot since the edits don't even show up to be verified (had a hulemdo check).

For edits, it pays to team up with experienced editors and submit the same info. I think they are automatically rejecting them.
If you have Yoost or I or others submit the same edit you want, its more likely to be accepted. You can also create a second account and submit the same edit from both. For troublesome places where I couldn't get a bunch of edits (name, location, hours, etc.) accepted in one pass I submitted them in parts and got through that way. I think I've done well over 600 places at this point.
