In Finland, don't you get a sword when you get your PhD, in order to defend knowledge or something?

That sounds rad as shit. What am I doing in Japan when I could be getting a sword studying in Finland?
And yeah it was truly bizarre. No idea what I did to offend her so much. Seems like it’s not just me though. I went away a couple of weeks ago, so she was asked to translate some ALT letters of recommendation, and rewrote them into something just completely unusable (Eg. 廊下を走っている児童を見かけると日本語で注意を呼びかけ became ‘If she saw students running in the hallways she would scream at them in Japanese’). The ALT supervisor got me to retranslate them when I got back, but didn’t want to talk about it when I brought it up. Not sure if I’m in a position to push this but I’m a bit concerned about literally anyone who has to work with her, especially the new ALTs coming in.

I chuckled at that translation but yeah, not so helpful to the poor ALT it was for.
Edit: Maybe this is the method of dream-destroying we were warned about? Sabotaging their recommendations. Oh the power, the power...
