HI GUYS. I secretly always stalk this thread because- Does anyone else feel like the wait for the release of the results is killing you? Coz that's how I feel everyday I know it's bad but I think it just goes to show how much I want the job hahaha. Anyway have a great day ahead guys! (I am currently rushing my essay hue) and really hope all you people aiming to be CIRs get in too!!! All the best for those who have yet to do the interviews! ファイト! Yes! In my experience, the wait after the interview is the worse, because you keep remembering what you did and picking on all the bad things, haha ^^;
Just try to not worry about anything too much and continue your life, because when the decision actually comes, then you have to spring into action whatever happens!

皆さん、はじめまして!
I am a 2019 JET CIR hopeful as well, and I've been at the edge of my seat waiting to hear anything back after the interview stage.
I applied as an Early Arrival candidate, so they didn't have a lot of definitive information for me about when I might hear back once the interview was over. Did anyone else apply for Early Arrival and have a better idea of the timeline for hearing back?
Thanks in advance!

Since early arrivals are getting here on April 14, I'd hope that you'd already know if you were coming in with the first batch. This does not mean that you were not accepted.

Ahhh I was thinking it was too late for Early Arrival acceptance since it's so close to April already I shall hold out hope to be accepted for the regular arrival time 🤞 Thanks for your response! 🙏 Wishing all prospective CIRs the best as we're stuck in limbo!

Didn't think I'll get it so I had to rush to get some stuff, tried to meet as many hulemdos as I could. wasn't residing in country of citizenship so I had to leave earlier and the embassy was really helpful, understood my situation and got my visa on the day I went for the briefing (two days before the flight) so well it's hectic but possible. Just make sure you know what you need to bring and how fast can you obtain the items.
There were only 5 eigo-ken cirs so don't worry if you don't get April. Personally, I wish I did not apply for Early Arrival because it was so hectic you don't have time to think and had to just do it, I can't really remember the fine details of how I prepared...

OMG hahaha do you remember the pain of trying to get your documents from your place of residence to the embassy in your country of citizenship? Coz I certainly do ahahahaha (oh the pain of having to get them to send my criminal records to the embassy itself... a stupid A5 piece of paper that probably just says I have none)

They wanted the hardcopy of the acceptance letter and visa application asap so had to send it via speedpost, $$. Seems like you were in the same situation, spent a lot of money just to apply and get on jet.
Aya Raincoat That's tough as well. Lucky that I was living with my parents. If one was living alone, that would be ultimate chaos. Feel as though minimum of 2-3 months is needed to prepare stuff and mentality.

Yeah my parents had to put together my application because I was sending some documents physically and some electronically, and the my reference came from an entirely different country C (ironically Japan hahaha)... I think they ended up going to the embassy in person to submit it coz we couldn't be sure it would reach by the deadline by mail ><

PoisonBelle Yeah, I owned my condo and lived with my now-ex, so I had to pack all of my life (I had lived away from home for like 10 years), sell (it's stessfull to pay both rent and a mortgage, hue) and he had to figure out stuff. Thank goodness my mother's an angel (although she takes care of everyone and their dog :/) At least I was lucky enough to work walking distance from the embassy, so I didn't have to pay too many things extra like you two!

This was exactly my situation but i also had to pack up the remaining crap of my exs stuff along with my own but in 28 days. Your situation definitely sounds 100x more stressful than mine though, we had recently moved so we got rid of some of our stuff then, I can't imagine packing up 10years of life(>-<) My parents were about to leave the country for a holiday, and none of the people were able to take me to the airport on the day of my flight, but luckily a hulemdo of mine came and took me at 4am bless his soul. As for mentally preparing, I was in a situation where although it was hectic having to move country within a short time frame I had minimal financial responsibilities and managed to sell things I wouldn't need or could repurchase and haul everything else to my poor parents place in the next town over.My now-ex and a lot of my hulemdos had left for Japan a few weeks prior which was somewhat nice as I had hulemdos in the same time zone I could talk to in English. I think if you apply for April arrival you really need to think about if you will be able to up and leave should you be chosen. As I didnt really feel comfortable back in NZ the move over here in April was probably the best thing even though it was a tough time for other reasons. I was also the only EIGO-ken CIR in my april arrival group.

Hello!!
I thought I bombed the interview, as you guys can tell from my only other post in this thread, but I'm excited to say that I was short-listed by the Portland, OR consulate!
I made mess because I'm currently moving my boyhulemdo and myself up to Portland because I accepted a job and we we're looking for apartments so that kind of sucks (that's how much I thought I didn't get in) so excited to clean that up but oh well! Once in a lifetime opportunity.

I was shortlisted today from San Francisco!!
I've been too scared to post updates because I didn't want to jinx the results, but my interviewers were super nice. One of them was a former CIR so I suspect he's here on the CIRHP. I'm super excited to meet yall! YOLOSIK!!!
