the only thing i have found to do for now is to report the ads on the page if it happens. to do so, click the "report ad" button at the very bottom of this page

Hey sorry just noticing this; what exactly is going on with evil ads hijacking the site??? I’ve never had any issues with the page so I’m not sure if I understand the problem.

every now and then (once a week?) my forum page just randomly gets redirected. it does get blocked if you have adblocker on tho

For me it's more like once a session. I've had this issue on multiple devices, and also with malicious ads on other sites. And... as we speak I am redirected. It's not really possible to report I think because the page is redirected too quickly. Attachments:

that is the same exact one i get. can you download an adblocker? otherwise, i have copied the url and reported all the ads on the page after i go back, putting the copied url in the dialogue box i dont know what else to do... i will try digging again but... ことしも魚ろしく any ideas? |

and it just happened again. I can do adblockers, I just don't want to customize the office computer too much.

well if marudate can't solve it then i doubt i can hue. however, i've never had that problem with the two pc's i use and my phone, so is it possible that it's some sort of malware? |

It's unlikely to be malware as my office computer is a Mac with no other symptoms and my home computer a new Windows 10 one that I take care of.
To be fair, this happens on other sites with the same ad host occasionally, so I think that's the problem.

I updated the gender pronouns section of the profiles. It is now an dropdown menu with different choices. If your pronouns are not there, message me and/or ことしも魚ろしく to update the options. We will not even consider joke pronouns. Either way, that field should still be entirely optional so there is no obligation to list them. If there is anything else that your hulemdoly neighborhood Eternal Overlords can do to make your forums experience better, let us know~ |

it was there but it only ever said "Welcome to the new CIR homepage"
none of the Eternal Overlords ever used it after this page was created a few years ago hue. i have been thinking about using it for announcements like this. at least to say that "there is an announcement and you need to check the thread"
that way people would theoretically see it more than an announcement thread they have never even used. but just as i thought, that bar, since it never changed, just became a meaningless part of the background that no one would notice hue
