(Note to start: this was my first job after finishing JET in 2015, and I think it's a great position for English native CIRs who want to carry on working in Japan. Originally I only planned to work here for one year but ended up staying four. I would especially recommend it if you're interested in the translation/PR/digital outreach aspect of CIR jobs.)
I am leaving my position as a PR Officer at Kobe University and we're looking for a replacement with native-level English fluency and high Japanese proficiency. You will translate, write and disseminate information in English across a range of platforms in order to raise the University’s overseas profile. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities: writing press releases, creating content for social media and websites, producing brochures and newsletters, translating and editing documents, liaising with foreign press and assisting at international events.
Start date: August 1, 2019
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, English native speaker with JLPT 1 or equivalent language aptitude, business-level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Employment status:
Full-time employee. Initial contract: August 1, 2019 – March 31, 2021
How to apply:
Application deadline: May 31. Applicants will be asked to submit a CV in Japanese and English and complete several short translation tasks. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a Skype interview. More details about the position can be found here:
