I am doing a school visit for almost 80 (!!!) 6th graders this month and have to figure out a game/activity for everyone to play... Halloween themed using English if possible but beggars can't be choosers here hue The game time is about 15 minutes and will be held in the gym.
I have never done gakko homon with ANYWHERE near this many kids and the larger groups I do, usually don't add in games. Was gonna skip it but the teacher insisted since the kids are very "yancha" and she didn't think they'll be able to sit through even a shortened version of my talk... the teacher also wants me to do it in English though, which is NOT happening hue pretty nervous about the whole thing ugh
I was thinking about maybe playing an alternate English-learning version of Red Rover but kinda worried about potential injuries since the kids are supposedly rowdy... I had a kid cry at my last visit with 10 kids playing musical chairs >.> no idea how I can handle 80 kids hue
Any ideas welcome!!

Is the gym big enough for you to divide the group? I've never had so many kids at once, but when I did play with a large group, I had them play the shark game. I just got reminded of a game I played at an English camp recently... Rock-paper-scissors Snake You start by playing RPS, and then whoever loses lines up behind the other person. The you RPS the next person or snake, and all the people in the loser snake join the winner one. Continue until only one giant snake exists.

That could be fun, and nice that everyone becomes one snake at the end so it doesn't emphasize winners/losers too much, plus the kids can do rock paper scissors on their own without a lot of instructions Not sure the gym size but hoping to be able to divide them into at LEAST 2 groups

I can't remember how much time it took, though!

Human knot? Always enjoy me that one as a group-bonding/icebreaking activity. 4 groups of 20? Time them to make it competitive.
We play a version of Simon Says and when you lose you sit down and it can be done in English as well (touch your head, stand on one foot, dance goofy, wave at Sensei).
