Hey hi mcduds ! I'm a 5th year CIR in SHIKOK (High Knowledge), who is going to be a 6th year soon. I hope that you'll get your SHIKOK placement! I work for the prefectural office in the main High Knowledge City. My placement has a great balance of rural and urban (urban city in a rural prefecture) and I am very grateful for it! Oh hello yukina7 ! I'm also a Singaporean! It's nice to meet you, and congratulations on getting upgraded!! wow hello! hope to be able to meet up if i get placed in an area nearby! ZEHI ZEHI!

I’m an ALT hoping to apply and switch to be a CIR for next year. My city doesn’t have a CIR, but there are other areas in my prefecture that do. (I’m not in a designated host city.) Has anyone else here done that? What does the switchover process entail? How do I make this request known? Since this post is from awhile ago, it might not be relevant, but I just wanted to share that Gun Mother's two most recent prefectual CIRS both did JET as an ALT for ~3 years and then were able to switch to the CIR role. I'm not sure if that's common in Gun Mother, or just how the timing worked out, but current ALTs were given the chance to apply to switch to the CIR position at that time. The catch? You weren't allowed to recontract on JET anymore; you had to decline to recontract for another year, and if you didn't get the CIR position, you had to finish JET. No options to transfer or anything. The current CIR will be finishing their 5th year, so I would imagine they will be replaced normally with a new CIR. There hasn't been any talk of asking current ALTs to apply for it

There hasn't been any talk of asking current ALTs to apply for it That's probably because the change to the CIR position is considered a transfer, so you either get it or you're out, just like when you ask for other transfers.

I didn't know that was the case for other transfers. That makes more sense then

From what I’ve been told, they usually pick the PA CIR out of ALT applicants here. Also hi, who are you? Have we met?

We worked together on orientations and were both ALTs in the same city. I think the most defining memory I have of you is your handstand stunt pulled during G Games

Though to be honest what's really killing me is the wait for my placement. Once I have an idea of where I'm going a two week delay or so would just be some extra study time which I feel like I could use hue
