Have your consulates mentioned what's next or when are they sending papers to sign?

We were told to reconfirm our intention to participate on the programme, and got info about the pre-departure orientation. We were also told that we should contact the embassy in the case that our CO hasn't contacted us by 1 July

Speaking of which, does anyone have any idea when they (or our predecessors) are likely to get in contact? 🥺

I've just been told by my soup that I've got a 市長表敬 next week Friday. Does anyone have any advice? Idk what to say and I feel like my keigo is still sub-par hue I just met the mayor on Wednesday and it went okay, I think. He just asked me basic questions like why I started studying Japanese, what I think of the city, and what I want to do/places I want to visit while I'm here. です・ます is fine, don't worry about keigo. The mayor seemed a bit nervous too, actually. There were a few awkward pauses between questions where we kind of just sat there not knowing that to say. Not sure about how it will be for you, but the press was there -- just one guy. He took photos of us and later asked me more details about my experiences and thoughts so he could put it in the article he's writing.

My speaking isnt great and I go gradually brain dead as the day goes on from all the processing of Japanese but I guess I should get better as time goes on. Everyone I work with is super amazing to me tho 🥺
