You don't know how excited that just made me. *BENKYOU-hype intensifies* The real 質問:Is it any good? Um, it's all right? It's probably the most useful if you want to learn/review polite set phrases. (Then again I haven't looked at it in years...it may be different now.) I think Mumblesnore once mentioned having a conversation with his mayor that was word for word what was written in the ZIKOSYOUKAI section. But you learn so much on the job, so don't worry if it's not particularly useful for you. (If it is, great!!) In terms of general knowledge (including Japanese vocab) I'd argue the first section (第1章:CIRの基礎知識) of the CIR Handbook is the most useful and generally relevant.

Things I bring back from the US in large quantities every year when I go back: deodorant, contact lenses, cheese-its, skittles, and gravy mix packets. May be a very random list, but just about everything else I could possibly want is available in Japan. Between Shimamura and online sites like Nissen, most ladies should be able to find clothes no matter how bootylicious or plus-sized. I have no idea about men's clothes, since I'm not a man. If you happen to have an exceptionally large bust, that might be a problem, but I don't have that problem. Same with large-sized feet, I have very small feet so I don't know much about it, but the largest sized women's shoes I've ever seen here were 4L which I think might have been about a US size 8.

What do you tend to put the gravy on? Rotisserie chicken from Costco! They have been selling whole frozen turkeys at the Kyoto location year-round this year, too.

I suspect it will be before end-May.... because COs are not allowed to contact you until after May 25, and that date is usually set to allow reply forms to come in - and if I remember correctly reply forms are sent in after you've been notified of your placement. Or was it after you're shortlisted? Hmmmm... it's been five years, I can't remember hue
Have you been told to send in reply forms yet?
