Oh wow, I thought they meant litres and that it was about recycling 1L bottles hue
"Small but mighty" (nice because it rhymes with Tottori) "Good things come in small packages" "It's not the size that matters" "Life-size"
The worse thing I ever wrote it isn't: "Our size might be S, but we're the best!"

I am struggling with this translation. I am trying to break it into multiple sentences and have it make sense. Here's the original text and what I have so far. Suggestions are welcome.
Original: 今後はオンラインを活用した中で国際貢献・交流を進めることを念頭に置きながら、その成果を地質サイトの新たな価値づけと地質遺産の保全、「ふるさとアポイ学」や普及事業に活かし、また、小さな地域から世界規模の地球環境を考えられるような取り組みを進めていくことにより、持続可能な地域づくりを進めていきたい。
Translation: Hereafter, we will bear in mind the promotion of international contributions and exchanges via online applications and will aim to use the result of these efforts to promote sustainable regional development by attributing new value to geological sites, preserving geological heritage, and including new information in the "Hometown and Apoi Studies" (educational) program. In addition, we will promote initiatives that enable people from small territories to think about the global environment on a global scale.

Any ideas for translating 田舎あるある ? I'm thinking "Just Inaka Things" I think that's perfect, assuming the readers know the meaning of inaka

Am translating something from English to Japanese and it hit me that this is embarassing to ask - But what is the Japanese word specifically for mailboxes in the office? I don't want to just assume 郵便受け or something if there is a technical name for those small square mail slots you see in many offices. I am checking my dictionaries and nothing is coming up. 😳 If someone could help, I would appreciate it!

I'm not sure if there's something specific for the mail slots in offices, but you could just use 郵便ポスト or 郵便箱

I was thinking 郵便箱, but I didn't want to miss an opportunity to learn that those mail slots had their own name in Japanese. I always call them cubbies in my head lmao Thank you!! Also, one more translation-related question, but I am translating menus right now and one of the items is called 魅惑な牛すじカレー. To avoid any confusion, I just translated it as "Appetizing Beef Curry", but doesn't that sound too awkward for an English food menu? Maybe just "Beef Curry" would be better hue

I just changed it to Beef Curry. If I saw "Delicious Beef Curry" versus other items that don't have that word before them, I would think wtf is wrong with their other food. That is avoidable imo hue If someone asks why I didn't include the original's direct translation, then I will explain why. Thank you all for your help as always! :DD

今後も、○○市の皆様の笑顔を守るため、精一杯、力を尽くしてまいります。 "protecting the smiles of the people of xx" is weird in English, right? protecting the smile is weird and unnatural, yeah. i think "put a smile on the people's faces" is the more natural eigo (even if the nuance is difference ig)

hmmm struggling to come up with something that isn't too bland, but also not too cheerful
"City will continue to dedicate its utmost efforts to bringing smiles to the faces of sistercity's people."
kind of a lot of tos and ofs

今後も、○○市の皆様の笑顔を守るため、精一杯、力を尽くしてまいります。 "protecting the smiles of the people of xx" is weird in English, right? I’m not a fan of it. I think “protecting the happiness “ or “ensuring the happiness” can be subbed in maybe? Edit: oops I didn’t see all the other feedback/clarifications when I posted
