I don't want to assume, so I just didn't use titles. Also they said there are some women and children mixed in so it would be weird to say "mr lemon" if Lemon turned out to be a little girl...

No I'm still less than half done haha. I got up until 「あんたって人」... 「あんたって人は、昔っから、そうだった」 and stopped because I'm not 100% sure of what she's saying there orz I was doing so well until then...
Just from context I think by あんたって人 she means "your person" like "your old boo thang" but can って be used like that??
post-enlightenment edit: I feel dumb for even questioning this lmao

why am i helping the enemy
Doesn't it mean あなたという人? it's just emphasizing "you" so really the sentence could have been あなたは昔からそうだった but with more exasperation

I thought it made more sense if Mari was talking about their dead aquainence who looks like Mr. Mint. :o Maybe if I just keep rereading it enough times it'll click eventually. fake edit: wait no it makes sense NOW hue. It's so weird/cool how stuff can just suddenly snap into focus and make perfect sense after being totally confounding.

I just did Mari without even thinking about it hue...but I guess it could be Marie? I assumed they were Japanese though, even though the names are in katakana.

I was going to do this contest but a million dreams IRAI have come up that will literally eat up all my time at work and on the weekends (largely because I will be spending them working) so I might have to give up this time :<

It's unlikely I will be able to finish this cause I have a week long biz trip next month followed by a week long yasumi. We're still getting a number of honyak ilais as well TOLIAEZU NAMA will see what happens.

I saw that some people posted about last year's competition, but this year's Manga Translation Battle has started! I somehow ended up as a finalist last year so now I feel obligated to try and make a repeat showing this year...

I saw that some people posted about last year's competition, but this year's Manga Translation Battle has started! I somehow ended up as a finalist last year so now I feel obligated to try and make a repeat showing this year... Ohhh I wanted to enter this for like 2 years but I was always too busy! I might try entering this year since I translated a one-volume manga for a Translation Project for my MA~ Although I also wanted to enter the Japanese Embassy in London's manga-writing competition, for which the deadline is also November...but the Manga Translation Battle will help me more with the sorta stuff I wanna do so.Since it says the winner might get the offer to translate the whole series though, how would that work with being a CIR, 'cause we're not allowed to do other jobs on the side while we're on JET are we? (I'm not thinking of this in a 'I'm gonna win' way, I just wondered 'cause I wouldn't want to enter only to find out that if I did somehow win I'd have to choose between breaking contract to translate one manga series or remaining a CIR)

Taxes may factor in somehow)

Oooh I want to enter this year as well, though yeah it would be a shame to be unable to translate the series as the prize ><! (getting a little ahead of myself there hue) So amazing you were a finalist Kyu!! I entered a couple years back but of course I horribly procrastinated and ended up doing the entire thing within the last 24h of the contest and submitting seconds before the deadline. Yeah it may have been impressive to get it done in that kind of time but that is ofc not what the judges are looking at bahaha Do not recommend

Sent in a submission to the Kurodahan contest at half past 10 in the evening yesterday.
...that's technically still within the Sept 30 deadline, right?

I literally sent it in like 5 minutes before the deadline because for some reason I got the dates mixed up and thought the deadline was 15 October, not yesterday. >_> (Yeah I don't know how I got 15 October either... >_>)
