I am here again coz they were not satisfied with my suggestion but srsly it is better than their original hue The english subtitle for the prefecture's overseas strategy plan and globalization (海外戦略）they chose is "Be on the Offensive!" some suggestions so far...and srlsy I cannot think of any catchy phrases (not being creative sux so muuuch)
- Be Proactive
- Take Action (courtesy of bighug4u)
- Be Assertive

1. ○○大学教育学部小学校教員養成課程美術科卒業後、同大学大学院修了
I look up the uni website and only got School Teacher Training Program as the official name
so I translated it like this..I am not even sure if this will work well...
She completed the Faculty of Education's School Teacher Training Program in Fine Arts and graduate studies at ○○ University.

ugh, my brain has been 日本語 poisoned for this one particular word and i need some help if someone finds fun in completing difficult things even when unexpected
would it be correct for them to describe themself as "a stoic" in reference to that?
e.g. (not the examples im working with) "Just as I finished translating the law, it was revised and there was a new draft to translate. I had fun doing it, though. I guess I'm a stoic."
basically like
in English, do we actually call ourselves stoics in a way that corresponds to Stoicism, or is "stoic" now strictly an adjective that means "not showing emotion" or w/e? the Japanese ストイック seems to mean "strict with oneself" but...in this case it was used almost in the philosophical sense??
I'm so confused |

Masochist, yeah, or "someone who likes a challenge." maybe like a "glutton for punishment" would be the non-sexually charged polite version of masochist hue
edit: okay talking to my supe it's more like just someone who is really strict to themselves, not really the stuff I said before.
Like "someone who always follows through" or "someone who keeps promises they make to themself" are the ways it seems to be defined and stoic in english is someone who doesn't show emotion or doesn't express discomfort.

Maybe just "keep the numbers to the right" or "align the numbers to the right" I think if I saw "from right to left" I might end up writing the numbers backwards. Especially the foreign population here are mostly ESL speakers and from Asia..so I am overly conscious of the English terms I use.... How about : "Write the numbers by filling in the last digit in the farthest right box." |
